Built for Pressure. Designed for Precision.
The 6150 HPHT Slurry Cart is engineered to mix and deliver drilling fluids across the face of a core sample in the
6100 Formation Response Tester (FRT) core holder at a designated pressure and temperature. This process enables accurate simulation of fluid loss, which is essential in preventing issues such as formation damage, wellbore instability, and lost circulation during drilling operations.
With advanced features like a variable-speed mixer, precision-controlled fluid circulation, and patented flow stabilization, the Slurry Cart ensures consistent performance and reliable results under highpressure, high-temperature (HPHT) conditions.
Operational Simplicity
This slurry circulation system features a 2-gallon reservoir where test fluids are mixed and maintained in a homogenous state using a variable-speed mechanical agitator. A reciprocating accumulator enables precise flow rate control throughout the system, supported by a patented flow control valve that ensures constant flow during reciprocation. Flow rate and fluid density are continuously monitored via a Coriolis flow meter for accurate measurement and system feedback.
Once the system is filled with the test slurry, a closed-loop configuration is established for heating and pressurization. Temperature is regulated using a thermocouple mounted on the accumulator in conjunction with a PID temperature controller, while pressure is applied through a controlled nitrogen source. This setup is designed for seamless integration with the 6100FRT, enabling circulation of drilling fluids through a core sample under controlled thermal and pressure conditions.
The software for the 6150 also performs the data acquisition. All channels are recorded with time and can either be outputted directly or exported in spreadsheet format. The recorded data includes the measured and calculated values selected by the user. Upon test completion, an automated cleaning cycle can be run to prepare the system for the next test.
